Job Description: We are seeking for a passionate and experienced Substitute Teaching Artist to join our team. The Substitute Teaching Artist will be responsible for teaching after school arts classes to students, focusing on building confidence, art techniques and critical thinking to create meaningful works. This role involves implementing lesson plans that align with VAPA curriculum standards and cater to students' diverse skill levels. Lesson plans and supplies are provided prior to the class starting.

Assist Community Teaching Artists in working with the students in completing art projects and/or teaching newly prepped lessons for the given day(s).

Lead engaging and interactive after-school arts classes that focus on the core elements of the VAPA standards.

Expose students to a wide range of art styles and genres, promoting an appreciation for diversity and cultural heritage.

Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports and encourages students to explore their creativity.

Create detailed lesson plans that utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles.

Offer personalized instruction and constructive feedback to help students enhance their artistic skills and critical thinking abilities.

Integrate technology into lessons by using videos, audio recordings, and other multimedia resources to enrich the learning experience.

In-depth experience as an artist and/or arts educator. Must provide a portfolio of your work.

Each year, an open-call application is made available in each of the seven active partner cities. Supporting artists equitably is a critical part of the Artadia Award process: we consider the unique populations of each community and are proud to reflect our country’s diversity with an Awardee pool that is over 50 percent female and over 40 percent persons of color.

In addition to financial support, Awardees can participate in the Artadia Network to receive structured opportunities for valuable new connections and resource sharing as well as receive a dedicated webpage on Artadia’s online Artist Registry. Connections fostered by Artadia have facilitated major steps in Awardees’ careers, such as inclusion in prominent exhibitions (e.g. six Awardees are featured in the 2024 Whitney Biennial, and seven Awardees in Prospect.6 New Orleans).

Beyond Artadia’s anchored program cities, we offer annual awards such as the roving Award with 21c Museum Hotels and the SEEN Award – a dedicated Award for women-identifying artists with ancillary programming.

1. OPEN CALL
The Artadia application is open for one month in each program city, is free to apply and open-call.

2. APPLICATION REVIEW
A jury of three curators assembled by Artadia, including one locally based curator, reviews all applications and determines a short list of six Finalists.

3. ROUND TWO STUDIO VISITS
A second jury, assembled by Artadia, made up of one juror from the application review and one new juror conducts virtual studio visits with each Finalist for 45 minutes.

4. AWARDEES IDENTIFIED
Following the studio visits, the second round jury will designate three Awardees to receive unrestricted funds of $15,000*, as well as access to the Artadia Network. Awardees are determined based on the sole discretion of the jury. *The Marciano Artadia Award gives unrestricted funds of $25,000 to one artist in Los Angeles.

For their time and labor in the application process, Artadia provides honorariums to each Finalist ultimately not chosen as an Awardee.

MLK Jr. Youth Services Center / Young Adult Project Public Art Commission RFQ

Located next to Grove Park at 1730 Oregon Street, the Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Services Center/Young Adult Project houses various afterschool and summer recreation programs such as tutoring, violence prevention, and leadership development for teens and young adults. As a community center, the Parks, Recreation, Waterfront Department provides recreational programming and services for residents of all ages here, but this is the only community center with a particular focus on young adults and teens, located in an area that was formerly redlined by the mortgage industry. It is home to the City’s only teen-focused recreational programming and offers free, low-cost, or affordable programming for the City’s residents, in particular our at-risk youth. In addition, the MLK Jr. Youth Services Center/Y.A.P. has been designated as one of the City's care and shelter facilities identified in the City's Resilience Strategy.

City of Berkeley - Civic Arts Grant

Reports To: Associate Director, Communications (ADC)

The Digital Content Manager (“DCM”) will oversee the production, marketing, distribution, and accessibility of digital arts content, program documentation, and media communications for P.S. ARTS. The DCM will be responsible for P.S. ARTS’ external online presence, including web content and social media, as well as documentation of P.S. ARTS programs. The DCM will produce frequent, high-quality multichannel content that reflects P.S. ARTS’ mission, advances organizational goals, and aligns with the P.S. ARTS brand. 

This DCM position demands a creative spirit able to deliver on multiple projects and campaigns across various P.S. ARTS platforms – internal and external; as well as within communications, fundraising, and program services. This includes project management as well as content creation.

P.S. ARTS - Digital Content manager

Under the supervision of the Communications and Marketing Director, the Communications and Marketing Assistant contributes significantly to advancing the California Museum’s mission by promoting its exhibitions, public programs, and educational offerings through the website, social media, e-newsletters, outreach, and other promotional channels.

Working closely with the marketing team, the Communications and Marketing Assistant develops and implements strategies to enhance audience engagement, elevate event and exhibit visibility, and ensure consistency in messaging and branding. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills in social media management and video editing, paired with a passion for storytelling and fostering community connections. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who works independently and finds creative solutions when challenges arise. Social Media:                        In collaboration with the marketing team, create and maintain an engaging presence for the Museum on multiple social media platforms by managing the posting of a regular schedule of highly visual posts to promote Museum activities, share mission-related content, and increase the Museum’s social media following. Manage day-to-day aspects of social media, including copywriting, scheduling, posting, commenting and following key accounts. Creation of digital assets – including photos, videos, and motion graphics – in collaboration with the Graphic Design and Communications Specialist. Video Production: Capture dynamic, on-site footage of museum events, exhibits, and behind-the-scenes activities for social media and promotional use. Edit raw video footage into polished, engaging clips suitable for various platforms (social media, website, news outlets). Ensure consistency in branding, tone, and messaging across all video content.


Community Outreach: Conduct research and develop custom contact databases to aid community outreach efforts. Assist in the local promotion of events and exhibits and promote positive community relations via outreach to community partners and organizations. Developing flyer distribution lists custom to events and exhibits, and as needed, distributing flyers.

SAG-AFTRA - Disaster Relief Fund

partnered with East West Bank, today joined with the Mellon Foundation, the Helen Frankenthaler

Foundation, The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Qatar Museums, Ford Foundation, and other national and international institutions to announce the creation of the LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund, an emergency relief fund for artists and arts workers in all disciplines who have lost residences, studios, or livelihoods or have otherwise been impacted by the devastating Los Angeles fires. The fund will be administered by the Center for Cultural Innovation, a longstanding intermediary providing funding, advocacy, and research support on behalf of individuals in the arts.

Sweet Relief Musicians Fund is here to provide immediate financial assistance to music industry professionals impacted by natural disasters. Applications will be taken during a short stretch of time surrounding the disaster, but donations are always welcome.

Grants will be issued to those that can show proof of destruction of, or damage to property or music equipment from any sudden, unexpected, or unusual event such as a flood, hurricane, tornado, fire, earthquake or even volcanic eruption. Funds raised will go towards loss of music-related equipment, medical bills related to the event, and other vital-living expenses.

About the Verge Regional Residency Program (VRRP)

The Verge Regional Residency Program is a public program of Verge Center for the Arts. Verge is a strong supporter of the regional arts community. The VRRP is intended to extend Verge's investment in the Sacramento community, establishing a conduit between the regional art community and the broader art world.

Verge offers the greater Sacramento area's best contemporary visual arts programming. We strive to challenge the greater Sacramento area to develop a deeper appreciation of the visual arts by offering diverse, broad-based, public programming such as the VRRP in order to develop and promote regional artists.

As a proud Sacramento institution, we love giving back to this city and supporting others in their success. The VRRP offers such support by providing artists with the opportunity to participate in community and dedicate themselves to their passion.

The purpose of the Verge Regional Residency Program is to give meaningful support to artists and creatives. Our residency program provides visual artists financial support along with time and space to concentrate on their work. Earl B & Loraine H Miller Foundation Grant

The Sacramento City Council and the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors make funds available to the Cultural Arts Awards (CAA) program to support nonprofit arts and cultural organizations. This funding provides general operating support to organizations within Sacramento County who contribute to the cultural vibrancy of our communities.

To be eligible for funding, organizations must meet standards of diversity and equity, artistic and/or cultural contribution, community impact, show sound management, and demonstrate financial and organizational accountability. More information can be found in the guidelines liked below.

Sacramento City Council - Cultural Arts Award

MACSD - Video Production Internship and Training

As part of its ARPA framework for Creative Youth Workforce Development, the City of Sacramento’s Office of Arts and Culture (OAC) is launching its 2025-26 Creative Youth Workforce Development Grant.

Up to seven grants of $75,000 and three grants of $220,000 will be awarded to Sacramento-based nonprofit cultural organizations and for-profit creative businesses to create high impact training and work readiness experience for youth and young adults ages 16-24. Programs would serve youth in the US HUD qualified census tracts, US HUD adjacent and/or the Sacramento Opportunity Zone.

Creative businesses and organizations in the fields of media production, design, experience creation, and civic Innovation, implementing youth and young adult training and internship programs, are encouraged to apply.

Under the direction of the Public Art Program Director, the Public Art Project Manager (PAPM) assists with the implementation of the City’s public art program and stewardship of the City’s Civic Art Collection. Under the supervision of the Senior Public Art Program Manager, the PAPM will manage approximately 15-20 permanent and temporary public art projects in various stages of development.  Project budgets range from $50,000 to over $1 million. Client departments include San Francisco International Airport, San Francisco Fire Department, Municipal Transportation Agency, Recreation and Parks Department, San Francisco Health Dept. and the Public Utilities Commission. The PAPM may also manage art maintenance and conservation projects for monuments, public sculpture and other artworks in the City’s Collection under the supervision of the Senior Registrar. 

Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, essential duties of the Project Manager includes:

PROJECT PLANNING: Identify and meet with project stakeholders. Develop project objectives and parameters, including location and approach, and qualifications for artists.  Establish project budgets and schedule. 
 

PROJECT APPROVALS: Coordinate interface of art project with host agency and its consultants and contractors; represent the project to host agency and other city and governmental agencies for approvals as necessary, facilitate interface with Arts Commission and Visual Arts Commission (VAC) at important project junctures.   
 

COMMUNITY OUTREACH: Develop and implement community outreach and involvement plans for project; work with agency Public Relations Officer to develop public relations efforts and orchestrate events related to project promotion. Represent and present the project to community organizations and the general public. 
 

ARTIST SELECTION PROCESS: Conduct the artist selection process, including establishing a pool of qualified panelists, writing and issuing Request for Qualifications, developing and implementing an outreach plan to inform artists of the opportunity, researching and recruiting qualified artists, scheduling and conducting the artist selection panel in accordance with PAP protocols. 
 

CONTRACTING: Write, negotiate and administer all project contracts, ensuring that all artist/contractor responsibilities, deliverables, and milestones are met. 
 

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT: Oversee development and implementation of artist’s proposal, ensuring that the artist’s design intent (as approved by the Commission) is met. Exercise aesthetic judgment as necessary. 
 

PROJECT INTERFACE AND PROBLEM SOLVING: Coordinate the design and execution of the artist’s work with other city contractors, design team members as necessary. Assist the artist in finding qualified subcontractors as necessary. Anticipate and address possible problems or issues that may arise in course of the project to prevent future complications, and to use initiative, creativity and diplomacy to address and resolve any problems and conflicts that arise in the course of the project, either technical issues, or disagreements between the parties, problems with the interface between the project and the community to name a few. 
 

CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS AND CODE COMPLIANCE: Ensure the artist’s project is documented in all project design and construction documents; review all bid documents and specifications for full and correct documentation of the artwork into the construction documents and specifications; when necessary, consult with experts to ensure that artwork as designed fabricated and installed complies with building and fire codes and ADA requirements; is properly engineered, fabricated and installed by qualified licensed contractors. 
 

BUDGETS AND FINANCIAL: Manage project budgets; approve all payments, track expenditures. Monitor discrepancies between the budget and actual expenditures and be responsible for the financial management to ensure the project is completed within the budget. 
 

ARTWORK DURABILITY: Ensure long-term maintainability of projects through careful review of fabrication materials and techniques by conferring with the Senior Registrar and seeking outside conservators’ opinions as necessary. 
 

MANAGEMENT: Oversee and manage the work of artists, fabricators, installers, conservators, and other contractors in the implementation of each public art project. 
 

PROGRAM POLICIES: Assist in developing, reviewing and implementing program policies and guidelines. 
 

DEPARTMENT GOALS: Participate and support agency’s mission and goals, including its commitment to racial equity, as reflected in the SFAC Racial Equity Statement and as detailed in the Racial Equity Work Plan

Job requires attendance at some night and/or weekend meetings, events or workshops.  It also requires site visits to construction sites, fabrication shops, and artists’ studios to monitor the progress of fabrication and installation. 

Possession of a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university.

One (1) year full-time equivalent experience performing professional-level administrative duties in functional areas such as: program/office/operations management, budget development and/or administration, development and administration of contractual agreements and/or grants, or other closely related functional areas.

Additional qualifying experience performing professional-level administrative duties in functional areas such as: program/office/operations management, budget development and/or ad-ministration, or contract/grant administration may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. One (1) year (2000 hours) of additional qualifying experience will be considered equivalent to thirty (30) semester units or forty-five (45) quarter units.

2-3 years of full-time equivalent experience in project management, including the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, to work with a diverse group of people, and to be proactive in problem-solving
