        Job Position: Substitute Teaching Artist

        Location: San Bernardino, CA

        Hours: On Call when availability Opens, 2 hour per day

        Compensation: $30 - $35 per hour

        Job Description: We are seeking for a passionate and experienced Substitute Teaching Artist to join our team. The Substitute Teaching Artist will be responsible for teaching after school arts classes to students, focusing on building confidence, art techniques and critical thinking to create meaningful works. This role involves implementing lesson plans that align with VAPA curriculum standards and cater to students' diverse skill levels. Lesson plans and supplies are provided prior to the class starting.

        Expectations:

        • Assist Community Teaching Artists in working with the students in completing art projects and/or teaching newly prepped lessons for the given day(s).
        • Lead engaging and interactive after-school arts classes that focus on the core elements of the VAPA standards.
        • Expose students to a wide range of art styles and genres, promoting an appreciation for diversity and cultural heritage.
        • Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports and encourages students to explore their creativity.
        • Create detailed lesson plans that utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles.
        • Offer personalized instruction and constructive feedback to help students enhance their artistic skills and critical thinking abilities.
        • Integrate technology into lessons by using videos, audio recordings, and other multimedia resources to enrich the learning experience.

        Qualifications:

        • In-depth experience as an artist and/or arts educator. Must provide a portfolio of your work.
        • Passion for giving back to their community, arts education, and nurturing student creativity.
        • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
        • Skill in fostering a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
